Job Description

We are looking for a Trainee Investment Banker to join our team. As a Trainee Investment Banker, you will be responsible for supporting the investment banking team in various aspects of deal-making and business development. You will be expected to learn and develop your knowledge of investment banking, financial analysis, and valuation methodologies, as well as gain a thorough understanding of the industry and the markets we operate in.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting industry research, market analysis, and company valuations to support investment decisions and deal-making
  • Assisting with the preparation of pitch books, financial models, and presentations for clients
  • Participating in due diligence activities, including financial and operational analysis, to support transaction execution
  • Supporting the team in developing relationships with clients and industry professionals
  • Working with senior team members to prepare proposals and marketing materials
  • Staying up to date with industry news and market trends to identify potential business opportunities
  • Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure smooth and efficient execution of transactions

On-the-job Training:

We offer a dynamic and exciting on-the-job training program for our Trainee Investment Bankers. You will have the opportunity to work on real transactions from day one, under the guidance of experienced professionals in the industry. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, you will also receive the following training:

  • Financial modeling: You will learn how to build complex financial models using Excel to support transaction analysis and decision-making.
  • Communication skills: You will develop your written and verbal communication skills through regular interactions with clients and team members, as well as through the preparation of marketing materials and presentations.
  • Negotiation skills: You will learn how to negotiate and manage deals through active participation in deal negotiations and deal execution.
  • Professional development: You will have access to a range of training programs and resources to support your professional development, including mentorship programs, online courses, and industry conferences.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A strong work ethic and the willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
  • FCA Regulatory Certifications
  • Previous internship or work experience in finance, investment banking, or related field preferred but not required
