Job Description

A growing accounting firm is seeking a trainee accountant to join its team. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training, and will have the opportunity to support the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting senior accountants in preparing financial statements and tax returns for clients

Conducting research and data analysis to support senior accountants in providing advice to clients

Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards

Participating in client meetings and providing support to senior accountants

Assisting with the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders

Training Programme:

The trainee accountant will undergo a 12-month training programme, covering the following areas:

Accounting Fundamentals: A comprehensive introduction to accounting principles and practices, including financial accounting, management accounting, and tax accounting.

Financial Analysis: Techniques for evaluating and interpreting financial information, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and benchmarking.

Taxation: An overview of the tax system, including income tax, corporation tax, and value-added tax (VAT).

ACCA Qualification: The trainee will receive support to complete the ACCA qualification, including study materials, exam preparation, and on-the-job experience.

Industry Trends and Developments: Keeping up to date with the latest accounting and taxation trends and developments, including emerging technologies and regulatory changes.

The training programme will be delivered through a combination of classroom-based training, online learning, and on-the-job experience. The trainee will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced accountants and to participate in real client projects.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Ability to Identify and prevent money laundering

AML Certificate Minimum - 30 Hours CPD points
