We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable insurance underwriter to join our team in London. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in underwriting insurance policies and be able to assess and manage risk while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse and evaluate insurance applications to determine risk and establish coverage
Determine appropriate coverage limits, premiums and policy terms and conditions
Review and assess policy renewals and endorsements to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and company standards
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations and best practices
Collaborate with other underwriters, agents and brokers to negotiate policy terms and conditions
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and other stakeholders
Provide expert advice and guidance on insurance coverage, risk management and underwriting
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of underwriting decisions and transactions
Participate in regular underwriting and performance reviews to identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, risk management or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance underwriting, with a strong track record of achievement
Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices, including risk assessment, policy underwriting, and claims management
Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information, including financial statements, actuarial reports and risk assessments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate with clients and stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
Knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements
